MISS TEXAS UNITED AMERICA
About The Pageant and The
Director

Roslyn Echols - Baker is the former Mrs. Texas United America, 2007 -
2008.  She is 46 years old, married and the mother of a 6 year old son.
Roslyn has a long history in the beauty industry as a  Marketing
professional and owner of the Mahogany Door Salon and Education Center,
she also holds a license in cosmetology.

"participating in the Mrs. Texas United America Pageant was a wonderful
and life changing experience for me.  At 45, it was my first major pageant.
Spending the year motivating and inspiring young women around the state
was the most rewarding.  So much so that I couldn't stop there.  I decided to
start my own local preliminary pageant to celebrate the accomplishments of
women of all ages.  The pageant will uplift and encourage women from 13 to
49 to be all that they can be.  It's not about the outer beauty but how you
learn to appreciate the beauty within.  The beauty that God uniquely placed
upon each and every individual."

We are looking forward to our first year and hope that you will find this
experience enriching and wonderful.

Texas United America and United America Nationals
Executive Director,
Mrs. Annette Rushing
Hi,

It is a pleasure to be involved in helping to shape - in a positive way - the
lives of so many wonderful participants of my programs. To be able to offer
the guidance in helping to achieve the positive SELF CONFIDENCE -
POISE - and FAIR COMPETITION - to go towards a goal to help further
ones self. To offer this opportunity to showcase your personality and talent.
To help give you a "choice" in competition where you are not required to
have more than necessary to represent YOU - the focus being on the
contestant more than the clothes. Where in my pageants - the Contestant
ALWAYS comes FIRST! and you will always receive MORE than a title -
besides the scholarships and prizes, you will get to represent your title
throughout the year! You will be seen on TV., parades, in major
publications, talent and commercials and be seen by thousands!

It is my goal to continue to run a FAIR, HONEST competition.

Besides being involved with pageants, Annette has owned her own
successful business for 25 years in Austin, TX.
